Bloomberg reported on Sept. 18, 2026, that Chinese robotics-component shares rose after a local report said Tesla teams arrived in China to audit suppliers and place additional Optimus orders. SCMP sources name Zhejiang Sanhua Intelligent Controls, Ningbo Joyson Electronic, and Tuopu Group. Tesla China declined to comment. A ~50,000-unit 2026 figure is chain-source only, not Tesla guidance.

Bloomberg reported on Sept. 18, 2026, that shares of Chinese robotics-component suppliers climbed after a local report said Tesla teams had arrived in China to audit suppliers and place additional orders to boost production of its Optimus humanoid. The audit wave matters because it is one of the few public manufacturing-readiness signals for whether Optimus can clear volume production through Yangtze Delta auto-parts partners already wired into Tesla's car business, rather than another stage demo.

This is a supplier-chain and market-reaction story, not a Tesla investor-relations update. Tesla China declined to comment when asked by the South China Morning Post. A plan of about 50,000 Optimus units for 2026 Gigafactory deployment appears in 21st Century Business Herald citing industry-chain sources and must not be treated as Tesla guidance. The pack is also separate from same-cycle reporting that Tesla's Optimus lead said viral demo moves are essentially remote-controlled.

Bloomberg tied the move to a 21st Century Business Herald report and said the Solactive China Humanoid Robotics Index rose 1.4%. Actuator maker Ningbo Tuopu Group gained 2.8%, while sensor maker Ningbo Joyson Electronic and thermal-management supplier Zhejiang Sanhua Intelligent Controls each advanced more than 1%, Bloomberg said.

SCMP, citing two corporate executives with business ties to the manufacturers, said Tesla officials and engineers had begun auditing Chinese Optimus suppliers including Sanhua, Joyson, and Tuopu, all based in Zhejiang and already supplying Tesla's electric-car parts. Those sources said the round comes as Tesla plans additional component orders with mass production set to begin at its Fremont, California, plant. CnEVPost, citing The Paper, said audits last week spanned the Yangtze River Delta including Ningbo, Hangzhou, and Shanghai, and that a chain source said the named firms had already received Optimus orders of differing sizes before this audit round.

What remains open is whether Tesla will confirm the China audit round or any 2026 volume target in its own channels, whether the named suppliers clear into Fremont and later Texas robot lines at the order sizes chain sources describe, and how much of the A-share move was audit news versus broader humanoid-theme trading.
