Anthropic has given its Claude AI assistant two new jobs, released on Oct. 8. Claude Dashboards builds a page of charts from a company's own data and keeps it current as the data changes. Claude Motion turns a report or an idea into a short animation that plays like a video. Anthropic says the point is to cut out the wait: asking a question of company data usually means filing a request with a data team or writing database code, and an idea that would work better in motion usually ends up as another still slide.
Dashboards plugs into the systems where companies keep their records, such as Amazon Redshift, BigQuery, Databricks or Snowflake, and into other apps connected to Claude, such as Salesforce. A user types a question, such as how this week's signups compare with last month's, and Claude writes the database queries, the instructions that pull the right numbers out of the data, and lays out the charts. Each chart shows the query behind it and when its data was last refreshed, so people can check what a number is actually counting. Anthropic says Dashboards is meant for quick questions. When one needs deeper digging, a user can send the dashboard to a dedicated analysis tool such as Grafana or Mixpanel and carry on there.
Motion is aimed at work presentations: a 30-second animated summary of a quarterly report, a moving chart for a board deck, or a walkthrough for new customers. Claude writes code that animates the text, charts, shapes and images, so any word, number or timing can be changed while the rest stays put, and the result downloads as an MP4 video file. Anthropic says Motion does not use an AI that generates video, so it creates no realistic footage and no AI-made people.
Both are betas, early versions that may still change. Dashboards is open to people on Claude's paid Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise plans; Motion only to Team and Enterprise, the business plans. On Enterprise plans both start switched off until an administrator turns them on; on Team plans, Motion starts switched on. Both count toward each plan's usage limits, with longer animations using more. Anthropic also took the beta label off Claude's documents, slide decks and designs, which are now open on every plan, free included, and says people have already made more than 45 million of them.
The launch is part of a wider push by AI companies to sell their assistants as everyday work tools. Anthropic says Claude makes the first version and the user decides what gets shared. Because every chart shows its query, a person can check whether it counts what they meant, and ask Claude to fix it if not. Anthropic has not said when Dashboards and Motion will leave beta or whether they will reach free users.
