DYNA 2.1: Taku claims a full commercial laundry shift without a babysitter

DYNA 2.1 Taku semi-humanoid laundry workflow demo still from Dyna Robotics

On Sept. 29, DYNA Robotics launched DYNA 2.1, a physical agent on the wheeled semi-humanoid Taku. The company says the system can complete an entire commercial laundry shift without human intervention. DYNA frames an uncut hour-long laundry demo and scores the stack on Mean Time Between Interventions rather than isolated task success.

A commercial robotics company just put a full laundry shift on a wheeled semi-humanoid. On Monday, Sept. 29, DYNA Robotics launched DYNA 2.1, a physical agent the company says can autonomously complete entire physical workflows such as a commercial laundry shift without human intervention. The news is a full-shift laundry claim on Taku, not a home-robot price tip and not a park demo.

The company site names Taku as the central hardware: a semi-humanoid body above the waist, four steerable wheels, and two 7-degree-of-freedom arms. DYNA says Dyna-2.1 is the first physical agent to perform hour-long, non-linear loco-dexterous manipulation workflows, and shows an uncut one-hour laundry-room demo. That first and hour-long framing is a company claim. Independent third-party verification of the demo length was not reviewed for this article.

Company materials say the laundry shift includes loading washers and dryers and turning machines on, unloading deep into a dryer, snapping towels flat, folding and stacking by size, and shelving finished stacks. DYNA says the agent corrects physical errors such as a dropped towel or a bad grasp without asking a person for help. Deployments are framed for hotels, laundromats, and restaurants.

The stack combines a vision-language orchestrator, a whole-body controller, and DYNA's proprietary world action model DYNA 2, which the company says was trained on a million hours of human and robot data. Co-founder and CEO Lindon Gao said customers need robots that complete an entire workflow for a full shift without human babysitters. Co-founder Jason Ma said the company optimizes for Mean Time Between Interventions, arguing continuous real-world shifts require thousands of sequential steps.

What remains open is how the hour-long and full-shift claims hold outside company demos, and how MTBI looks once Taku is in customer laundry rooms. The story here is DYNA 2.1's commercial laundry physical agent. It is separate from Flourish 1's consumer home robot, from Tau Robotics cleaning demos, from Feather and O-ID products, and from any AgiBot park deployment still waiting on a company primary.
