OpenAI just put official company pages under DevDay's always-on agent pitch. On Monday, Sept. 29, the company published Introducing dots and a DevDay 2026 Recap that frames more than 20 major announcements. The launch centers always-on agents with a cloud computer, not unfinished Cyber event rumors.
OpenAI says dots are remarkably capable, always-on agents that work toward goals 24/7. They run on their own cloud computer, learn from feedback, and connect to more than 4,000 apps through plugins. The company says they are powered by GPT-6 Astra and reachable through ChatGPT, Slack, or Teams. Users can inspect a dot's computer and keep access, permissions, and action review with approvals.
Rollout starts with a primary personal dot. OpenAI says it is beginning to roll out dots across Pro, Business Premium, and Enterprise plans in eligible markets, with plans to expand later. The company is also previewing specialist dots for organizations, with identity for access management and a path toward Microsoft Agent 365.
The DevDay Recap lists Introducing dots among the day's product cards and describes agents that can take on ongoing responsibilities. Separately the same day, OpenAI introduced GPT-6.1 Sol, an upgrade it says nearly matches GPT-6 Astra on agentic coding, computer use, and professional work at about one-fifth of Astra's standard token prices. Sol is a same-day companion model in this wrap, not a substitute for GPT-6 Astra and not a claim that Astra shipped as the lead here.
What remains open is how wide the Pro and Enterprise rollout lands, how approvals feel when dots act overnight, and how specialist dots behave inside real company systems.
