Apple has updated its App Store rules to say that apps where people make or share content must actively block and take down intimate images of people made without their consent, including ones made with AI. It also clarified its longstanding ban on apps that hide features until after approval, which can cost developers their accounts. Apple's HomeView, a screen for a counter or a wall that costs $299 in the U.S., comes with Siri AI, a new version of Apple's assistant that Apple says can hold a real conversation and, with a paired iPhone or iPad that runs Apple Intelligence, use each person's messages and calendar. It ships Nov. 13 in the U.S. and seven other countries, but not in the European Union. Siri AI is still labeled a beta, and Apple says more use of some features will cost a fee later, without saying how much.

Apple says it will add controls to Full Disk Access, a macOS permission it says can expose files, mail, messages and browsing history. Users would have to take very explicit action to grant it. Apple says the risks of that access will grow as AI agents become more capable, but it has not said when the change arrives or what it will look like.
